The Nottingham Wolves Ball Hockey Club would like to say a huge thank you to Doug and Charlie, Landlord and Landlady at the Fox and Crown Pub and Thai Kitchen, for their generous support for some of our young players who will be travelling with Team GB to the Czech Republic and Canada this summer to compete in the ISBHF Junior World Championships. The local pub has become the unofficial club house of the Wolves on Thursday nights after their regular training sessions at Ellis Guilford Sports Centre. The pub has kindly provided funds that will help Ben Royle, Jacob Taylor, Tom Webb and Aidan Cox, pay for their travel, accommodation and kit for the upcoming World Championships. the players were absolutely thrilled to get the support and would like to extend their personal thanks to Doug and Charlie.
The Fox and Crown Pub, 33 Church Street, Old Basford, is a traditional pub serving a range of beers, including a number of ales from nearby local brewery Shipstones, as well as guest ales and lagers. They serve traditional pub snacks and also have a Thai kitchen providing excellent Thai cuisines at great prices. It is always a warm and friendly atmosphere at the pub which has a beer garden, pool table and a number of TV screens for football and other sports events. The pub is a true community hub and supports a number of local clubs.
The ISBHF Junior World Championships will be held in 2 locations this year. The Under 16s Boys and under 20 Ladies will compete in Prerov in the Czech Republic in June and the under 18 and 20s Boys will compete in Newfoundland, Canada in July. The Wolves are proud to have representation in every age category, with 11 players in total representing GB at the Championships. We wish all the players well. Why not drop into the pub for a relaxing pint or bite to eat, and head over to their Facebook page and give them a ‘Like’.
