Our third and final legend inductee of 2018 is defence-man Paul Morris. One of the original Wolves, Moz is still a defender that most opposition players don’t like playing against. Joint club founder Gary Roebuck once said ‘Moz is Wolves through and through. If you chopped him in half you’d see the Wolves logo running through him like a stick of rock’.
He was a member of the Wolves team that won it’s first National Championship in 2011. The following season he suffered a ruptured knee, missing the rest of that campaign. Well into his forties at that point, some doubted he’d make it back. They were wrong as his passion for the sport shone through. A couple of seasons later a broken leg (that he’d played on for months) robbed him of another season, but again he proved the doubters wrong and returned to action.
Still the owner of a mean slap shot Moz now plays a key role in our Direwolves team that acts as a gateway for our talented young players to our top teams. Many of our top young players have benefitted from Moz’s leadership on this team.
